Time to start keeping records!

Hey everyone,

Pollination time is here for many of us. Time to start keeping records of
your pumpkin's pollination and growth. A couple rules when classifying your
pumpkin's pollination :

Open pollinated - The female flower was completely exposed and pollinated by
natural means. No grower interaction.

Cross pollinated - The female flower was pollinated by the grower using a
male flower from another plant. The female was covered both before and after
the pollination to insure no other pollen was introduced by natural means.

Self pollinated - The female flower was pollinated by the grower using a
male flower from the SAME PLANT. The female was covered both before and
after the pollination to insure no other pollen was introduced by natural
means. If you have two 967 Nepereny plants growing and you cross the two,
that is NOT self-pollination.

The CucurByte/web 2000 site will be up and running on October 31st. It will
have a new look and feel and of course new information, features, and
photos. Please keep accurate and thorough records of your growing
achievements this summer and feel free to contribute them to the web site so
that others may benefit.

Thanks,
Mike
