Growing too fast?

I am wondering in my pumpkin is growing way to fast. Today was its 16th
day and it is now 55 inches in circumfrance. As far as I know this is way
ahead of normal pumpkins for this time. It is up to 12 llbs per day now.
Should I try to slow the growth or let it ride?
