Pumpkin Master,
With temps into the 100's our pumpkins grow really fast your correct.
The only problem is keeping them on the vine. It's not uncommon to get 6
inches of growth a day for several days in a row. The real problem is
fast growth during the hot days and slow growth on cooler days. This all
leads to total destruction of all our hard work. Now you see it now you
don't. Because after the cooler days in the low 90's we're back into the
low 100's the plants put on a sudden growth spurt and there she blows.
Our pumpkins look like a shattered windshield completely blown up. This
is the harsh reality of growing pumpkins in California.....Jon.
