Storm Warning

In torrents poured the H/2/O
it pinged and panged the gutters so.
Unending seamed the lighting bright
as thunder shook the house tonight .
My babies down there in the patch
were my concern.
I lit the match.
With burning candle, power gone
eyes squinted out toward the lawn.
A glowing shade cloth billowed low .
Come morning sun ...we'll see .
I go.
