Pollination dilemma

Hi.

We've had a great deal of rain (three days after the last rain I still sank
in to my ankles -- things are a bit better now) and stifling heat with many
days in the upper 90s. I've fought off the cucumber beetles, buried my vines
and fertilized whenever I could actually venture into the garden.

I have two AGs growing in spite of the difficult weather. My sons have named
the larger plant Frasier and the smaller one Niles. That works for me.
Frasier, a Zehr 1061, has a 14' main vine with three secondaries about 4'
each. Niles is an 800+ AG of non-specific genetics and has a 9' vine and one
3' secondary. Frasier has several male flowers and one female developing
about 12' out on the main. Niles has no flowers, yet.

I don't know whether to cross the Zehr with the generic AG or to pollinate
it with its own males. I do want to get the experience of pollinating the
AG, rather than letting the bees do the work.

Should I wait another week or two for the generic? Should I self the 1061?
