Methoxychlor

List,
Just picked up 2 1/2 gallons of the famous Methoxychlor. Does anyone know how it works??  Does the spray kill the eggs or the larve when the eggs hatch?? Or does it kill or deter the vine borer moth from laying the eggs  in the first place!! Thanks
