Re: vines on lawn

I grow Atlantic Giants and Jack O'Lanterns across the lawn. I cut a narrow
path into the lawn and added compost and manure in place of sod. Then, I
cover the vines on the Giants main vine (only). I have great success. Others
I know just cover the vines. They will send out secondary roots in any case.
But, they will have competition for water and nutrient if the sod remains.

In the fall, I re-seed the narrow path and comes spring, there is little or
no trace of the pumpkin path.

Go for it!
