OFFICIAL NOTICE OF NAME CHANGE
Hear ye, hear ye. Let it be known that, from this day forward, the Atlantic
Giant pumpkin known as "Frasier" shall be called "Mia" and the AG known as
"Niles" shall henceforth be called "Briana".
Mia, a Zehr 1061, has been renamed for Mia Hamm, extraordinary athlete and
leader of the United States' Women's World Cup Championship team.
Briana, a generic 800+ from P&P Seeds, has been renamed in honor of Briana
Scurry, goalkeeper for the U.S. team.
As we all sat watching the World Cup finals, my sons, aged 13 and 9,
decided that the name change was both appropriate and necessary.
I only hope that these pumpkins handle the pressure of a difficult season
as well as their namesakes.
