1st year grower question

I have a pumpkin growing quite nicely, but today I noticed
on the stem end in
the crease where the rings are beginning a clear goo, looks
kinda like clear
caulk or something similar. No cracks,holes or other
signs???????
Advice from an experienced grower would be much appreciated.
