Lyle great numbers.............the one thing I have noticed is the early
numbers really aren't a good measurment of the potential..if the climate
is
right the number are high.......the big difference is the duration of
the
growth....I remember Chris A. 977 slowed abit around 700 then took a
breather and then went at it again. That seems to be the difference of
the
champs they just keep going............MB

P.S you had a long period of 4 inches a day just amazing

sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

The numbers game is tough, my est. 680 from last year had a 87.5"
circumference on day 21, ultimatly, based on estimates, it would have
been in the 715-725 range had i not lost it 2 1/2 weeks before the
weighoff, but you would think that based on it's early large measurement
that it would have been huge. It sort of just tapered off after that.
It's biggest gain was 148.5 pounds in week 3, but it couldn't sustain
that growth, and dropped off. I think steady, growth that continues
even when the pumpkin is large is better than a quick burst in the
beginning when the pumpkin is small, then a tapering off.
