I know that potassium plays a big role in fruit growth, but why do we
wait so long to emphasize potassium in our fertalizing schedule? In
Langevin's Giant Pumpkins, 2, It is suggested that a high potassium
fertilizer be applied startin at week 16. Most people are setting fruit
by weeks 9-11. Why the long wait? Is it a function of age of the plant
or size of the fruit?
