You're not alone. I nipped off the first few females close to the base,
now I only have one grape-sized one at 12' and another starting on a
lateral. But I have a sufficient if small number of males.
I have another question...if I choose the one on the lateral, should I trim
off the main vine beyond it, or will that part still provide growing power
back at the offshoot?
