RE: shade structure


I recycle the rebar and pvc pipe from my cloches for this.  I put the rebar
in the ground in a square around the fruit and angle them in toward the
center then put the PVC pipe over the rebar in an X pattern.  I spread a
blue poly tarp over the structure and tie the tarp down to the rebar with
some jute twine.  They work just fine.  It also keeps the pumpkin and the
soil under it nice and dry to discourage fungus problems and rot.
