two weeks from a bloom

Tot 112 inches or 35.5 inches
Bad News
The stem end is cracking open in 5 places all around and
below the stem, one crack
is deep. The stem itself is cracking all around and up and
down the stem.
Question:
Any hope?
Should I remove it now, as I have another female bloom
further down stem, at
about 18 feet?
