Culling Baby Pumpkins

Have been receiving your e-mails for approx a month now. Info has been
great, please keep it coming. Would have made a lot of dumb mistakes
without group discussions on all facets of AG growing. Have been able to
browse archives for alot of background info.
My questions concern when to cull baby pumpkins??? Between July 5 and
July 10 I pollenated 21 flowers. 18 successes. On July 19 I culled out 9
babies which were the slowest growing/day, leaving 9 on the plant.
Largest pumpkin 37 inches circ at day 14.
1. How fast should I continue culling?
2. When two pumpkins are on the same vine will the pumpkin closet to the
growing tip grow more slowly than the one closet to planting hole or
vice versa.One at 10' and other at 13'.
