Too Much Rain

Southeastern Minnesota and Northern Iowa has received way too much rain
in the last 4 or 5 days. In my patch, it essentially stopped my females
from blooming, rained during the morning hours which did not allow
pollination, or helped cause the pollinated pumpkins to die. Now that
the rain is over, the sun is out and the temperatures will be in the
lower 90s. Again, not good for pumpkin pollination.
Last Friday, the patch received one inch of rain. By the end of Sunday,
another 2.8 inches fell and another 1.3 inches was in the gauge Tuesday
morning. Does that mean I do not have to water for five weeks. :)
Other areas received a lot more rain, so I do consider that the
Rochester area was lucky. I heard that one area in Iowa received 25
inches of rain in the past week. That is almost the yearly average for
the area.
Do not have to worry whether I should use the drip, mist. or sprinkler
method of watering.
