Hey, me too!  I saw two entry points, one even with the wet sawdust
telltale sign.  I dug both out (probably cut way too much vine) and never noticed
a grub in either.  I took this to be my complete inexperience with this,
but maybe not after hearing that you had the same thing happen.

So the question I have for the old timers is:  once the borer enters,
does he leave this early?  From reading, I think he leaves after feeding
for 4-6 weeks, but it hasn't been anywhere near that long.
