Rocky - I am not near those kind of numbers either but I do think I have a
few going good considering the drought we had been having also.
This had been one of the driest spring -early summers that a lot of the old
farmers can remember. About 3 light rainfalls of .25 inches or less since
the snow melted. But then in the last 2 weeks have been getting nice supply
of rain. Got 1.6 inches Friday night Sat. morning then another .6 last night
and had rained every third day for a week before that. So know I need the
rubber boots on around the plants now!!
It's like we are getting the April showers that were non existent in April
now.
Anways my report from Arnprior, nothing spectacular but some solid pound
gainers.
June 30 Baird 659 at 174 ott this morning.
July 7 Kennedy 625 at 136.25 this morning.
And yes Wayne the 625 after a slow start is really coming on lately, more
than doubled in weight in the last 2 nights - went from 29 to 61 lbs in the
last 2 days.
And Rocky - A Darkhorse twin - A July 7 Anderson 815 (green as grass) at 145
ott this morning.
So far this squash is the biggest per day of age one I got, there is 2 of
them both 5 seg blooms both pollinated the same morning, both side by side
on secondaries - were identical in size every day up till the last few and
now the one with a couple scars on it is growing quite a bit faster than the
cosmetically perfect one! Oh well - guess it does not matter what they look
like right?
Rocky at what point did you cull down to only one last year? You did cull
down to one right?
Glenn
