Lots of my Welty vines are a beautiful yellow same color as fruit on
female flowers. Are your vines really Orange? If so that might be a new
genetic allele??
I have lost all my crosses due to hot weather and thirsty vines--no
water. At sunset I made a cross between red Vif and Swalley 250 (AG) and
both flowers were better quality than usuall. It is 85 F at night here
but 95-98 in afternoon. After 20 minutes in from of a fan the antherium
and opened 80 to 90% so pollen was easy to rub onto the female.
