the problem with keeping the plant in the patch or composting it is you keep
all the disease and probable the insects too. some people go as far as to
rotate there patch every year. i dont go that far but i know its a no no to
compost your plant or keep it anywhere near your patch. i asked the same
question a few years ago. good luck this year
