Steve I think grafting a main to a secondary after the pumpkin may be a
good idea and try to feed the pumpkin from both ends . but I don't think a
grower should terminate a main root and try to graft onto another plant it
could be fatal. what I didn't want to see was to see other growers loose
their plant .only to share a technique that could make a plant that can add
size to pumpkins via more leaves roots. when and if we perfect this. one
thing we may have to be careful of is over fertilizing if we join to plants
together. we may or may not get a steadier growth than from a large
application of fertilizer.
