CHILLY in northern MN

Get the cloches on for tonight folks, talking 36 degrees in Bemidji
tonight. Been cloudy and windy this past week with highs in low 70's at
best, makes for great walleye fishing, but tough on the pumpkins. Have had
the plants under cloches for 2 weeks due to weather, bout time for some
sunshine. My sproule plant is doing well at the 10 leave stage. Did a Geerts
563 seed again since it did well last year. It's at 8 leave stage and has
big leaves. My 837 last year had the largest leaves on any AG I've seen.
Must be a trait of the 563. Hester 850 is coming well at 8 leave stage, as
well as Eaton 1009. For those of us limited to 2 growing plots, it's hard to
choose which 2 of the 4 plants will be culled. My wife says I get nervous as
a hooker in church when it comes to my plants this time of year. Oh well, it
comes with playing the game. School ended today, kids were nuts, now it's
time to play. Happy Growing! Pumpkinpiper
