RE: Greer 1006 offspring color
Bart: I grew a Greer 660(ouw) in 97 it has the same parents as the 1006 but
in reverse, the pumpkin that grew a 480 lber was about 35% green.

Subject: Greer 1006 offspring color
Does anyone know if there have been any GREEN offspring in the Greer1006
line? All of the females on my Brooks560-98 (1006x1006) are green. I'm
not ready to join the growers of green, I WANT A PUMPKIN. (Squash is
something you do to insects in the pumpkin patch) This plant is in my
second patch and is in competition with another plant that is producing
pumpkins. Only one of these plants can survive in the limited space but as
much as I like the Greer1006, there is no room for green fruit. I will
need to decide soon which will survive so the answer to the green question
and other growers experience is important.
