Dear patchless,
All we can do is plant the seed as you have done.
Then nuture its growth, if we fret and love our plants to death they seem
to do worse.
Its best to give them space to grow and when they need something they tell
us and we react.
Pumpkins are like life sometimes its fair and good to us and other times
they split .
Not much we can do just the nature of the beast.
