Hey Group,
Here in Indiana my buddy Jim Gatewood and I have conducted
a couple of independent experiments on live captured SVB moth's. In the
first experiment Jim tested both Sevin and Methoxychlor. The second
experiment was mine with a different SVB moth today using Warrior-T.
In the first experiment Jim added Sevin to the container and let
the Moth cover itself with the product. After watching the Moth for a while
with no affect he then added Methoxychlor. Still NO AFFECT! After taking
some pictures of the Moth Jim placed the Moth back in the container and went
to bed. When he woke up in the morning it was STILL ALIVE! (Tough little
buggers aren't they??!!)
Today about two weeks later I captured a live healthy Borer Moth of
my own. BOY WAS I HAPPY! I have been waiting to do an experiment of my own
for some time using Warrior-T. I placed the moth in a Ball pint glass sized
container. Then I went to my mini-Barn and removed several drops of the
premixed Warrior from the container. I then added it to the container for a
minute, long enough for the Moth to cover itself with the product, and then
removed the rest of the warrior form the container. What happened soon after
this was amazing. After 30 seconds the Borer was visibly irritated. Within
two minutes the Moth was on its back convulsing. Within 5 minutes it was
DEADER THAN A DOORNAIL!
I can't explain how happy I was to see this. The last two years I
have lost my plants to the pests. Hopefully this year will have a different
ending. I may stll lose my plants to something else but not the SVB.

Those products are meant to be ingested by the larvae they are not intended
to kill the moth.
