How do you apply the pollen from the dish to the ovary? Q-tip, paint brush,
finger tip, shake out?

Kid's watercolor paintbrush, soft bristles. I've also found a real easy way to keep the bees out - rubber bands. Pull all the petals up so it looks like a bud again and close the top with a small (about 1/4 in.) rubber band.
