Re: vine direction

I would let it hit the ground and then stake it a little bit at a time during the heat of the day.

Hi list:   I am just waiting for the rain and cool temperatures to break so the plants can get going here in northeastern Pennsylvania.  I tried to place the peat pots in the soil to predict the direction of the main vine. I placed them in so the desired direction was opposite of the first true leaf and for the most part it was correct.  The plants are just beginning to vine out and one appears to be turning in a direction that I don't want it to go.  Would I be better to let it hit the ground on its own and at a later date change its patch and anchor it a bit or should I try and stake it somehow to turn it before it hits the ground ?    Thanks for your advise. Ned
