Jetta, 'I like your name'
I had very similar problem my second year of growing. My Ph and soil were
fine. One thing that I was doing by mistake was spraying liquid Sevin at
the recommended dose and causing photochonesis (spelling wrong!!). Spray
any chemical at a dose lighter then recommended...........and maybe a
little more often depending on bug infestation. Chemicals will cause
spotty leaf yellowing.
Also in the beginning of the growth of the vine my 6-8th leaves had yellow
spots. I started to add a chelated iron/magnesium formula and added the
Miracle Grow Lawn Fertilizer (*high nitro) to my regular liquid fertilizer
spray. This helped alot!! Remember with this wet season you will see
a little yellowing........add more Nitro!!
Bill Sadowski, in Ohio, 7 plants in and a sore back from shoveling mushroom
compost :-))

>Hello all! I had written several weeks ago about a problem with
wilting plants that would eventually die. The problem has continued
for me and I can't seem to find a common dominator. Some of them were
started indoors in pots, others on a towel and transplanted and still
2 others planted directly in the ground. I had seeds from a number of
sources through the PGPGA and not all were in the same soil mix or
started in the same growing conditions. The roots looked healthy on
some, others have only a few roots but there was no sign of anything
wrong with the plants themselves until they wilted. I gave 2 to my
father and 1 of them wilted overnight and died. But I do have 3
remaining that I think will be okay {at least they have survived this
long and are starting to grow...) but I have noticed some bright
mustard yellow colored spots in the middle of some of the leaves. Is
this something I should be concerned about? I did have a soil test
done and made the recommended changes prior to the growing season and
I haven't added anything since. Any suggestion for this first year
grower would be appreciated! Thanks, Jetta in Virginia<
