Hi Kathie,
Thanks for the reply...sounds encouraging.  I'm going to give it a try in
smaller pots and see what happens.  If I can get something that resembles a
pumpkin my girls will be ecstatic.  We managed to grow a few small ones last
year and I couldn't get my 6 year old to put them down--literally.  From
show & tell at school to her bedroom, she carried them everywhere.
