sandi,
depending on how much room you have is how big you let your plant get
some growers use as little as 600 sq.ft. it is a good idea to train your
vine in the direction you want it to go and prune off some secondaries
so that you get a xmas tree or fish skeleton effect this makes it easier
to check your plant for insect or other damage and will allow you access
to your pumpkin after it starts growing so that you can check it for
damage,give it shade and measure it hope this helps deb
