Let me take a stab at this.
About ever other secondary on my 791 Glasier is doing this. They seem to be
the BEST and fastest growers of the secondaries. My first one which is only a
few inches from the main trunk (6 in) will use it as a lets say second
primary and will set a pumpkin on it along with one on the main. I will allow
this vine to circle the patch instead of pruning it at 10 feet like I will
all the other secondaries. OK so its not a true Christmas tree but it will
do!! In my opinion you must have a fast grower and look foreword to more of
your secondaries to do this. Just be careful not to force them down as this
just might brake them!!
