What is going on !!

As Jerry Seinfeld would say "What is the Deal with that"
OK I am learning allot this year and having a great time with all the
problems I am having yes truly I am. It serves me right to lay down the best
laid plan and have everything go wrong like clock work. From seeds not
germinating to irrigation not covering due to loss of pressure and not enough
volume, to the best plant growing in the lawn next to a hedge with no water
no fert no attention at all !!! Now this, the 986 Hester has yellow runners
!! I am planning on making some extra cash when the dooms day comet hits the
patch. I will charge 50 cents to see it.
  Well I have learned not to use old pesticides, not to folier feed with too
much kelp concentrate, not to germinate only two seeds at a time, not to be
greedy with seeds, not to bubble your seeds too long, not to direct start
your seeds, not to sand your seeds too much, not to roto till every week, not
to bury the vines too early, not to add too much organic matter to the
mounds, not to add so much leaves to the patch that you cant find dirt, not
to just add anything to the patch just because it is organic, not to use all
the house hold budget for water on the patch and let the rest of the yard
die, not to turn off the water when my wife brushes her teeth to conserve
water, not to go to the laundry mat to save water, not to only shower at work
to save water, not to get irritated when it won't rain in sunny southern CA,
not to get my boss to grow pumpkins because he is doing better than me, not
to say soil tests are for other guys, not to use pieces of your neighbors
house for wind screens, not to drop wind screens on the plants, not to just
say cloches are for other climates my plants are tough, not to put up the
late season sun tarping too early. Not to dig holes in the garden to see how
far the roots actually are growing. not to add too little fertilizer then
feel guilty and overdose them. not to make all my friends talk about pumpkins
every moment I am with them "they really don't care", Not to train my wife to
grow pumpkins "she really doesn't care", not to
     MOST IMPORTANT Don't listen to myself as I apperar to have no idea what
I am doing..and not to take life so seriously !!!!
     Well with all this said I just might be the guy who pops the biggest
one this year maybe the combination of ingredients that it takes to grow the
bigest isn't in the soil but in the trials and tribulations that it takes
just to see the plants grow in the first place.... Well to all, may you have
no problems like mine and just have smooth sailing to the 1000 LB mark.. Good
