Don't panic Janet...its 30 days since pollination. Its also just a guide and
its also just a guide based upon Ontarioesque climates. (nice word huh? ! ..I
made it up myself !) In your climate i would expect a different rate than
that. Dare I say faster and over less growing time. As the weather gets
hotter these things tend to decrease in fruit growth days. Besides...those
are Al Eaton's good pumpkins ("Eatonesque" pumpkins ...there, i did it again
! ) and well, his good pumpkins are more than good for most people. Do not
let those numbers scare you ....slow and steady will get you a bigger pumpkin
than you would ever buy at the farmstand. Al appears to be a major proponent
of "personal bests"..realizing climates and space are not standard
everywhere. Keep the plants healthy and happy and hang on........G
