Re: right plant size for pollination

Most of us set as many fruits as we can early.  Some may abort, and you will 
want to cull others a little later.  When you cull you will look at vine 
position and rate of growth to decide which to keep and which to cut.  It's 
helpful to keep a chart for each fruit and measure at equal intervals - 10 
days, 20 days, etc., for each one.  A later set that is growing faster would 
be a better choice to keep, all else being equal.

Probably you won't decide to keep one at 4 feet out, but if something 
happens to the others, you might be glad to have it.
