 produce green offspring.

 Any comments?

George:

Have a Cramer 824 plant doing nicely. Noticed an odd thing as this plant was
growing, only the main vine was giving me females, all of which have been
green so far. Male flowers only on the secondaries, which is extremely
unusual.

Today, I examined this plant closely and noticed small females, very tiny
ones, appearing on the side vine tips. They are clearly yellow. This plant
has been growing since March, so is very mature.

If these young yellow females remain viable and bloom, why would this plant,
which has been giving green females in patches all over N. America, decide to
have a change of heart at this stage in the growth cycle and start producing
yellow females?

Why only on the side vines, not on the main? Immature females at the end of
the main vine are green. Additionally, to clear up how green, I will say that
the green fruit that is set on the 824 is clearly green, stem and all, like a
young zucchini, with dark green veins running longitudinally from stem to
blossom end where ribs might be.

Oh, the wonders of AG propagation.

Yes, I am still growing! Looks like I'll be in the patch all summer.
