Re: Early blossoms

Another note:

I am not sure what size pot you use for sprouting, but I use a 4 inch peat pot and then pot up to a 1 gallon black pot (Nursery type pot, you can buy at a nursery or good garden supply center).

At about 5 days of growth, I pot up to the 1 gallon or you can go to a 2 gallon size pot.  But I do cut off the peat pot (before transplanting the pumpkin plant into the 1 gallon pot), I have found that the peat pots can constrain the quick root growth and can lead to a stunted plant if not removed.

Did you have your plant in a peat pot, and what size pot what it in before you put the plant into your garden?

I'd have to agree with some of the other feedback.... somehow your plant became root-bound very early.

Next year you may want to try to pot up to a 1 or 2 gallon (black plastic pot, nursery pot) from your sprouting stage pot about 5 days from sprouting, this bigger pot may hold your plants longer inside until you can transplant them outside.

No matter what you do with the plant you have (now) it may not improve, it may be 'stunted'.

High nitrogen is recommened for leaf and vine growth (the recommended type of fertlizer) at the beginning stages of pumpkin growing.

Is it possible that you could get another plant from somebody up in your area?  This may be your best option.

But if I stimulated the growth, would that do any damage to the plant or not? And I didn't really take much time to grow the plant inside, but then again I'm kind of starting out this is my 3rd year, so I'm learning. And my pots were just about the height of your hand (vertical) and basically the width too (except going horizontal).

To get the plant stimulated into a growth stage, feed it a high nitrogen fertilizer.

How long did you grow the plants indoors before you planted them outside?.

What size pots were the plants in before you put them outside?
