Another note:
I am not sure what size pot you use for sprouting,
but I use a 4 inch peat pot and then pot up to a 1 gallon black pot (Nursery
type pot, you can buy at a nursery or good garden supply center).
At about 5 days of growth, I pot up to the 1 gallon
or you can go to a 2 gallon size pot. But I do cut off the peat pot
(before transplanting the pumpkin plant into the 1 gallon pot), I have found
that the peat pots can constrain the quick root growth and can lead to a stunted
plant if not removed.
Did you have your plant in a peat pot, and what
size pot what it in before you put the plant into your garden?
