Early blossoms

Thanks to everyone who responded to my early blossom problem. I have
decided to let one of the plants grow, pinching off the blossoms as
suggested, and just see what happens. One of you suggested that use of the
high nitrogen fertilizer would stimulate the growth stage....My question
about that is....In the Langevin book he puts a lot of emphasis on the
point that we fertilize according to the growth cycle of our plant, but
cannot alter the cycle of our plant by the fertilizer. Any opinions on
that? Having said that, I will still do it, because I have no better options.

To answer the question about when , and how I started these seeds...I
started them April 14 in large plastic pots (about 10" diameter, and about
10" deep). This was only a week earlier than last year, and last year my
biggest one was 480 lbs. I planted them in the ground May 22, approx same
as last year.

As I said, I am going to let one of these "stunted plants" grow. I am going
to pull the other out, and in its place put a new one i just started
earlier this week. It will obviously be way behind, but i guess this year
will be just a learning experience.

Thanks again for your help.
