Answer & a question
Hey has anyone been known to grow a Giant Pumpkin that won the title
as largest pumpkin through a store bought seed? Like a seed found at
Fred Meyers or something?

Good question ... wish I'd thought to ask it. I can tell you that Mr Ray
Barenchi of Santa Rosa, California, grew the largest pumpkin in our
state in 2000 and is tied for 2nd place in California with seed he
bought 'over-the-counter' from Mr Howard Dill.

Are there other examples of 'boughten' seed placing high on the charts?
