re:Roots,where are they

Thats a tough call,do to varying circumstances,lengh of vines,plant vigor,etc.Myself last year when vines were 4ft (main vine) i rototilled and hit roots 12 ft away from the base or stump,and i beleave i was only going 6 to 8 " deep.So the roots are way out there at this point.And not neccesarly deep(or as deep as one might think!)This year i was burying soaker hoses and i broke of a couple of fat roots not far from the base of the plant.i was only going 3 to 4 " deep.Be carefull,i also use just a pitchfork at this point to loosen soil.Hope this helped.Grow a biggin.John
