Re: Flat vine vs. round vines?

This is the first time I have the flat vines... .they are on the 1020 Papez, 720 Wiberg/Cone, and my 691 Nesbitt.

The only normal vine I have this year is a 1131 Whittier (UOW).

The Papez 1020 plant is incredible, the  main runner is 4 inches (flat on one side) already, growing like a tree trunk.. unbelieveable.

I have seen some discussion on flat vine vs. a round type vine.

What's the difference and is one better than another (ie: does it matter)?

I have heard that several big Pumpkins have been grown on them.  For me they always produce smaller ones than other round vines in the garden that year.
