Fixing flat vines
I'm seeing some of you have flat/multiple vines- rather than rip up the
plant or truncate the main vine, I "fixed" mine last year without having to
wait for a secondary to take over- by slitting the tip with a sharp knife.
I had a double vine, and split it in half, down 6-8" from the growing tip.
(I had to do it twice because the first cut wasn't long enough.) After
that, both halves continued to grow, with one half growing normally. The
other half continued to replicate, and I terminated it. I'm glad I saved
the plant as it grew my biggest fruit!
