Steve
I even have some plants at 10 leaves. If you hit some good weather and good heat 85 -95 they will doon grow 4-8" a day. Not too far behind I think. Cut the tentril off for they will want to wrap around everything. Anchor the plant so that the wind doesn't break the plant . If you planted the plants at an angle they will slowly go over and touch the ground. Some plants like to grow straight up, this has happened to me. You want to slowly bend them over carefully during the heat of the day and very gentle and slowly over days untill you start burying then the work begins and no doubt you try to do to much and you break one off it happens. I would suggest you grow the main out and then secondaries off of that and cut all teriaries off. Looks like a christmas tree. The pumpkins will start at about 6' or so and be in the cluster at the tip. If it gets really hot you may want to shade the young tips or at least the main tip. They will burn off, had one the other day when it hit100. Think your doing well. Fertilize with triple 15 lightly before dark and wash off afterwards plants need to dry before night. Mildew might develope in your humid climate.or irrigate in the morning. Young plants don't need much, but they will also cook it you are not carefull.
