Hi Glenn,
Yes it's kind of that way. It depends on the plant. If there is a curve in the main vine, the inner side will definetly have every other side vine removed. The outer side will keep all side vines. If it's growing straight you use your judgement and only remove those that are gowing to close to each other. We like to be able to walk down each row easily. This also allows for sufficient air flow. Hope all is going well and look forward to seeing you at the summer picnic... Jim B

Jim: what is that pruning plan you'all are using up there in NH? i never seen plants pruned as much as your (yours referring to the NH gang) what is the plan of attack?? looks like for the past 15 seasons I've been wasting my time growing leaves and vines! are you pruning every other vive alternating from side to side? I'd ask Jim K. but he don't have e-mail!
