Re: Hot Wx Coming

If I left a 5 gallon bucket out all summer I would'nt be able to fill it.
Most of it would evaporate away anyway

  Hi All.

Looks as if we will hopefully, fingers crossed, get a break in this weather
(wx). Not until Monday here in New England, but the forecast looks good.
80's Mon-Wed here in Rhode Island, then 90's Wed, and thursday. That
should get our pumpkins growing! I sure hope this comes true.

I wonder if it's still possible to get a giant to grow with such a delay in
the growing season? It takes 120 days or more I think to grow one. We
have about 1 week left this month, July, August, September. That's about
100 days or so. Granted in early October I guess it could be possible to
prolong the season a week or two with a shelter, but I would think with the
sun getting lower in the sky, the growth isn't as much.

Who knows, may be the season will turn around and be perfect conditions for
our AG's. I've stored enough rain water from the gutters to last me all
summer long! I have an old cistern that probably holds about 1,500
gallons of rain water. I also have a 55 gallon drum beneath a gutter for
  easy, quick watering.

  Mike
