What a wacky year it's been. Little David (1016 Daletas) lies
stone-cold dead uprooted by a hydra-headed Medusa (1230
Daletas).
I know this is confusing, in fact I'm really confused by all
this - but my 1230's main vine when double so I terminated the
main at the fifth leaf junction about two weeks ago. Next to it
was Little David, a backup, which started slowly but was
starting to take off. It looked like Little David was going to
take over the mound.....
The decapitated 1230 turned into a horrible multi-headed Medusa
with four slithering snake mains - three of which were growing
faster than Little David! Then Little David started throwing
double vines for secondaries. So the 1230 had a double main
which threw single vines for secondaries and the 1016 had a
single main throwing double vines for secondaries. Got that??
No wonder I'm getting confused. Anyway... Little David made
the mistake of looking the horrid Medusa in the eye and was
instantly turned to stone and thrown clear out of the patch...
How's that for an ugly turn of events?
Speaking of UGLY... Now I have to wear my Polaroid sunglasses
anytime I get near that unruly bitch Medusa or she'll harden my
heart. She's already solidified a few pesky dogs and
neighborhood kids so she's not all bad....
In contrast to her horrid neighbor, sweet Lilu (1048 Companion)
is growing into a gorgeous beauty. For a sumptuous, perfectly
mannered princess, she is a bit aggressive. At thirty days
from germination she's 5 feet long, covers 16 square feet and
her largest leaf is 21.5 in in diameter. That's quite a bit
bigger than Geneva Electric at the same age (3' 4" long, 13.4sq
ft, and 19in leaves)

I will get a pumpkin cam going... I promise, when I get some
time...
