SE MN Bhaskaran's "rice?" Patch update!

Howdy!
Well, the year was going really well...until we got over 11 inches of rain
in 2 weeks.....7 inches coming in 3 days. The patch turned into a stream of
water and mainly a very mucky place to work. Yes, you look kinda goofy going to
the garden in shorts and boots. :-)

Anyways, looks like things will be lost, but so far not the pumpkins. They
have slowed down a bit, but I don't think it is to rot...time will tell.

Had my first female bloom today, with 3 other females tommorrow. I'm trying
this year to be a tad patience and let the first pollination be around 10+
feet....versus 10ftt and less. Hate to see these females go to waste :-)
Anyways, here are the current leaders:

#1 - 501.5 Beachy - 16ft MV. (female was today) - Day 57.
#2 - 808 Beachy - 12ft MV - Day 55.
#3 - 553 Nesbitt - 12ft MV - Day 57.
#4 - 1048 Companion - 12ft MV - Day 59
#5 - 1036 Companion - 11ft MV - Day 55.
#6 - 1092 Daigle - 11ft MV - Day 57.
#7 - 580 Bhaskaran - 10.5 ft MV - Day 62. (Best Secondaries, though!)
#8 - 793.5 Bhaskaran - 10ft MV - Day 56.
#9 - 300 Patrick - 9ft MV - Day 62.
#10- 243 Beachy - 8ft MV - Day 55.

Wishing everyone a great and fun year growing that 1400lber! :-)
