My first female flower buds appeared this morning. The males have beenblooming for about a week. The vines are about 8' long. I hadn't planned topollinate till about July 1, and that's three weeks away.My first weighoff will be for the Kansas State Fair, about September 11, andmy second chance is early October, I think about the 3rd or 4th.This is Kansas, and I expect to have extremely hot temperatures in July andAugust (100-105F, with some nights not going below 90F). I'll have no shortage of water supply and my nutrient supply should be excellent, too.Shall I think seriously about going ahead with pollination in a few days, orwait the three weeks till July 1? What advice can you give me? cheers, duchess of gladstone --------------------------------------------------------------------- Pumpkin-growing archives: http://www.hort.net/lists/pumpkins/ To sign-off this list, send email to majordomo@hort.net with the message text UNSUBSCRIBE PUMPKINS
