flower question

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the different female flowers. I am a new pumpkin grower. I am trying my hand at some Atlantic Giants. I have seen two different types of gynecia where the bulbous part is either green or yellow. There are always these two distinct flower types. They grow on the same vine. Is there a difference in these flowers? Do green ones grow better fruits than yellow or vice-versa? I have several yellows and green fruits growing and my green friuts (now white) seem to be doing a little better. I don't know if this is coincidental or not; but it is curious. The stems on the yellow pumpkins are yellow while the stems on the green pumpkins are dark green. Thanks, Karen
