Is it really hot out? Spray water or mist the leaves too if it is in order to cool them off.

This morning I watered all my pumpkin plants. An hour later I went down and two of them were wilted. I just now looked again, and I believe one of them (the biggest, of course) is going to die. All leaves are completely limp and hanging. Since I watered everything with the same water, from the same hose, and the temperature of the water was basically the same for all plants, what happened? I didn't spray anything with roundup, or 2-4-D, not near there or anywhere, didn't have spray on my clothes from some other project. Is there any chance that it will come back from whatever the heck caused this??? There are a few squash bugs crawling around in the Sevin, and I've treated the plants with Merit. cheers, duchess of gladstone
