Disappearing Buds

What insect eats the interior of a blossom at bud stage? My first baby girl
has been digested.   The pumpkin is still there along with the sepals but
EVERYTHING else has vanished.  Entry was made by a circular hole about the
size of a pencil eraser through the sepals.  The bud itself was six
inches above ground level.  I live in the Pacific Northwest. I had sprayed
triazicide on Saturday and Monday afternoon I discovered the damage.  Any
ideas?
